Jerseys to Jamaica!

In Jamaica communities struggle for resources to educate their students. Promoting sports and athleticism is an even bigger challenge with limited to no funding. For fourteen years, St. Patricks' Parish and Lynn DiPinto have travelled to Negril, Jamaica with youth from London, Ontario to provide summer camps in neighbouring areas for underprivileged kids. They also supply resources to educators and families and bring comfort and cheer along with them. This year with generous donations from Ramblers Club, players and their families, a community thirty minutes outside Negril was provided with three boxes of athletic jerseys, shorts, pinnies and pants for thier large school. There was an "official" presentation on Saturday, July 10th where Georgia McIntosh gave the athletic wear to the Principal and some students from the school, on behalf of Ramblers and their families. The principal from the school was moved close to tears and said "this is so wonderful of your families to do....my students love to play basketball and when school is back in they will not believe their fortune!! Thank you, thank you." One boy that came to accept the packages is twelve and said "he loves basketball more than anything in the world." Thank you Ramblers players, families and Club for supporting the love of the game, all the way across the ocean!
