Barry Hall – Founder

  One of the original founders of Ramblers Basketball was not a player, coach or official.  He was merely the biggest fan of his daughters and wanted them to get everything they could out of the sport.  The first Ramblers team was created to give 12 girls an opportunity to play competitive basketball around Ontario against other clubs.  18 years later Ramblers has grown to over 17 competitive boys and girls teams and over 550 members.  Although Barry never played or coached in games, he was indeed a student of the game and one of the best shooting coaches around.  He would spend time with players at camps, house leagues and competitive practices honing their skills of shooting the basketball whenever he could.  His knack for explaining the finer points of the skill were very rewarding for the players that took in his teachings.
  Barry had a unique way of making people feel special with a slap on the back, big bear hug or cheerful smile.  He touched a lot of player’s and parent’s lives in a positive way over the last 18 years.  Ramblers would not be the strong club it is today without the foundation that Barry and others have built over the years.
Ramblers will strive to maintain the professionalism and commitment to excellence that Barry started as we move into the future.  We will continue to open the doors of opportunity for players and coaches as they enter high school, post secondary or post university.
